Day 177---Thursday
We were at the last track meet for Summer track camp. Larry went to work at noon this day, so he got to come for the meet in the morning. I am glad all this is over, I think, but I will miss all the walking just already built into my personal schedule. B is resting in hte shade before another running race. She came home with two more ribons this meet---but she was disappointed in not getting more!

Day 172---Saturday
I like this picture better, though, a fast shot from my hubby as J goes down the slide (from a bridge above the slide).

Day 170---Thursday
B got to run in the 4x100 relay today, thank goodness. We've had some sports disappointments this week, and I thought she needed this or she might just quit. Her team got 4th place ribbons for their efforts this day. She got a ribbon for every event that she did this day. (Last week---no ribbons!) She had a good day.
Day 168---Tuesday bonus!
I made a chicken pot pie for dinner. I sorta made it up from what I thought might make a pie, and I consulted y Mom to make sure I was combining good ingredients. Then we had some Key Lime Pie ice cream after dinner. This is a really good flavor, by the way!! The Lemon Ice Box Pie flavor is a really good, too. There are little bits of graham cracker in there, and some white creamy parts. It's yummy, and not too sweet. Everyone in Texas knows this is the best ice cream in the country!

Day 168---Tuesday
I have to reveal what the mystery art substance was in my "Day 159" post.
It was crunched up Froot Loops! (store brand, I think.) Fellow 365 blogger Marianne got it the closest, with a guess of cornflakes. ;-)
I took this picture in case I need to teach drawing perspective to anyone. I'm at track practice this morning, it's 8:30 and 80 degrees. Our high school track is really nice. Down at the other end of the track is B's group, form running. J is walking with me, and he had to stop at one mile because he was getting a blister on his heel. I did another 3 laps today----which is a mile and 3 quarters for me!
Day 167---Monday
This is B's first All Stars game. Our "visiting" team had to sit facing the sun today, so I didn't get any good pictures! It was very hot, and I think I'm sunburned. They lost---12 to 9. But we had a rally in the end that almost caught us up! They played well. We will play again on Tuesday. When/if we lose again, softball season is over!

Day 164---Friday
This is softball from a Mom's perspective, always behind the chain-link fence. We had closing ceremonies for our league, and this is a picture of B's age group All-Stars team. We had 8 girls from our team and 4 from another. We have to turn around an dplay this coming Monday---no time to get to know the new girls! Larry is the tall guy in the center. He'll be their manager through the tournament.
I like this one because of all the colors on the shirts.

Day 163---Thursday
She ended up with a VERY disappointing day, since she didn't get to run in a relay race. But she did do these two events---long jump and shot put. She didn't place in either one, but as I keep telling her, she's the youngest in her age bracket, so it's harder this year than last. All in all, a really disappointing day!
But she should be proud of herself---she's trying her hardest and learning how to do better all the time.
I like how you can see the shot (the really heavy ball!) in the air on this one. In the long jump picture, she's in midair, and I like that, too.

Day 157---Friday
Here are my bathing suit tops. (I am about to wash the one I wore today.) I ordered the teal/black one from JCPenney. I LOVE the fabric. The swim skit was too cute---mostly black with some of the flowers over on hip. I wore them to the pool on Wednesday, but I was not happy with the top. It was too revealing for me. So I found a black top that would go with my cute skirt. I LOVE that top! It is flattering and it doesn't show too much. :-) Now maybe one day this summer, I'll be brave enough to wear it in a picture. But I doubt it! ;-)
Day 156---Thursday
J is singing his solo in this shot. He's the one that's is sort of the 4th one in line, from the left.
I went to J's performance at his acting conference. He did his part great! They did songs from the composer Alan Menken: Be Our Guest, Part of Your World (Little Mermaid), and my two favorites Troupe has done before, Sieze the Day (Newsies), and Skid Row (Little Shop of Horrors). J sang a part of Be Our Guest. They changed all the words to welcome the groups attending the conference in our town. It was a hit with everyone!

Day 154---Tuesday
B played with her little dolls this afternoon, all the ones we've gotten in Happy Meals or whatever. The prince character was marrying a Barbie.

Day 151---Saturday
The best awards probably were for "Father of the Year" for Larry and
"Outstanding Member of Seniors Repertory" for J
I'll have to list why they won the others later. It's late!
And I told you in the previous post I wasn't going, so I didn't take this one, but it has to be the picture of the day since both my guys are dressed up so nicely! The shades are making an appearance again! 8-)
Day 150---Friday
I was making cookies today. J and Larry are going to the Ovies tomorrow---the awards for J's troupe group. It is a fundraiser for their TNT conference next week, so tickets cost money and B and I aren't going. I am contributing to the event by baking cookies with musical theme and also stars. I love to see cookies all in a row!
This is an excellent sugar cookie recipe:
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking soda
3 cups flour
Cream sugar and butter. Add in egg and vanilla and beat until smooth. Add in baking powder and one cup of flour. Beat until mixed well, and add in the rest of the flour one cup at a time.
No need to chill the dough!
Heat oven to 400 degrees F. roll out dough and cut into shapes. Bake for 7-9 minutes, depending on the size of your cookies.
This cookie cutter is from my Grandmother J.'s house. I think it was hers, but my Mom has one just like it. So maybe I have Mom's? Anyway, I like this cookie cutter because it reminds me of Christmas in Memphis when I was a little girl. Mom would make sugar cookies with these red cutters----treble clef, angel, reindeer. The smell makes me happy!

Day 149---Thursday
B and I finally have a morning glory flower from the seeds we planted way back when. This one is out by the mailbox. Our pots of flowers aren't as nice as the ones you can buy, but we're still enjoying all the blooms we do get. As you can see, we're even rejoicing over this pitiful-looking one that's been damaged!
