Day 207---Saturday

The moment you've all been waiting for: The Games of Texas! The State Meet!
(Okay, maybe you haven't been waiting for this, but we sure have!)
B did her event at 10:45 or so. We had been waiting around a long time by then sonce we got there early for her 10:00 event. Ah, but such are the ways of Track Meets, I am finding out. So she was a bit tired already, and it was hot, and humid, but whatever. It's July and we knew it would be this way (not the huimid part).
B 13th in the state in her shot put event. Her best throw that day was 9 feet, 4 inches, a personal best in competition. Since everyone asks, the shot at her level is 6 pounds! :-)

Day 206---Friday

These are two of the best shots I took on Friday when we visited the Capitol building in Austin. One outside, one inside! We checked B into the State Meet for her shot putting, and then checked into the hotel, and went on to the Capitol building for sightseeing.

This is inside the dome, I think from the 3rd or 4th floor. B was fascinated by the thought that you could go up into the dome, above this part. We had seen a cutaway view in the visitor's center. This inner dome doesn't go all the way up to the dome you see when looking at the outside of the building. When we spotted the spiral staircase going up, I had to take a picture of it. No visitors allowed!

Day 205---Thursday

Another couple of flowers bloomed! I know this isn't too interesting! It's been shown before!

Day 204---Wednesday

B did not want me to take a picture, but here are her feet. Came out a little blurry, and I couldn't tell it in the tiny view-finder on the camera!

Day 203---Tuesday

This is a box we mailed to J at camp. B said we should decorate it. It was a great idea! Tried to make it special.
Contents:
pudding
Chicken in a Biscuit crackers
Teddy Grahams
Vienna Sausages
Peach flavored gummy rings
letters from Mom and B

Day 202---Monday

My anniversary was on Friday---July 20th----and these were the flowers Larry bought me. It's been a long time since I got flowers from him, so it was really special to me. I should have taken the picture sooner, though!

Day 201---Sunday

Here's J about to leave for camp. No pictures of him again until Saturday!!
:-(

Day 200---Saturday

This is by far the picture I have taken the earliest in the day during this year! We were up at midnight getting our Harry Potter book. We read a chapter all together before I had to turn in.

Day 199---Friday

I am sorry I have not been posting these more often! I just put up 5 in a row.
B is practicing her shot putting one evening with Larry. I love the dark storm clouds in the background, and the church steeple. I'm sure you could add symbolism to all this, but none was intended. ;-)

Day 198---Thursday

This is just a crazy kid moment. He and another 8-year-old boy were filling baloons with green water and pretending to throw up. These guys are B's friends from a young age, but she is starting to not be so impressed with their antics! ;-)

Day 197---Wednesday

I made a yummy dinner for me and the kids. Clockwise from the bottom: Green beans with french fried onions on top (not the extra-yummy casserole, but what B likes to spice up the green beans); sausage/mashed potatoes casserole with cheddar on top; fresh watermelon.

Day 196---Tuesday

One of our vinca we planted.

Day 195---Monday

I do not know what is going on here! At first I thought, cool, look at that big bug! Then as I got really close and examined things, it seemed like maybe it was two bugs. Hmmm . . .

Day 194---Sunday

J has his own sense of style. Never afraid to stand out in a crowd!

Day 193---Saturday

This is B and her gold medal she got at the Regional track meet in Waco. She's also holding her 7th place ribbon---for running 1600 meters=1mile! Her time on the mile was 9:39. Her gold medal is in shot put! (She was actually the only girl in her age group to try it, but she was out there doing it!) She also did long jump but didn't place. She was very proud of her gold medal. :-) I am really proud of her running a mile! I'm proud of her for many other reasons, too.

Day 192---Friday

I was so glad the crepe myrtle tree bloomed out so pretty this week!

Day 191---Thursday

Here's another zinnia that's starting to bloom by the mailbox.

Day 190---Wednesday

This is my MySpace profile page. I have been goofing around on this late into the night tonight! Larry went on to Waco to see about his Dad this afternoon. His dad went straight into ICU this afternoon. And B went with him since she's running in a track meet on Friday and Saturday.

Day 189---Tuesday

We spent a couple of hours at the pool this afternoon. B's jumping in! She set the shot up and I caught it just like she wanted---in mid-air.

Day 188---Monday

B is checking mail. She had mailed some letters, and today---her lucky day!---she got two letters back.

Day 187---Sunday

I have had a bad toothache since Friday, and I have been on and off feeling bad. So I didn't even pick up a camera!

Day 186---Saturday RW&B

As I was looking all over the place for red, white, and blue images, I was drawn to this mailbox in my neighborhood. They keep it like this all year. They even have a wooden flag on their house, with the inscription "Forever in Peace May it Wave."

Day 185---Friday

J is saying "Why does this always happen to me?"
He's the seed that fell on the path, and as that seed, he was stepped on and carried away by the birds.
This is one more shot from his run in the musical Godspell. Photo credits go to my Dad.

Day 184---Thursday RW&B

This one is sort of stretching for red, white and blue! My Dad's shirt is red, the screen is white (and so is Dad's hat), and J's shirt is blue.
We got to go to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History today. They were having a Star Wars exhibit (throught Sept. 3rd) that my Mom thought the kids would like to see. It was about how science and movie makers think along the same lines. B is using the fancy headset with touchscreen to tell her about the different exhibits.
It was a VERY rainy day, and I walked around with wet shoes all day, but I had a great time! In the afternoon, we went to the OMNI theater to see the "Special Effects" movie. We were all longing to see Harry Potter on the IMAX next week (but we won't!).

Day 183---Wednesday RW&B

Tabblo: Red White and Blue

These are my red, white and blue pictures from the 4th.  I went to Granbury, Texas, for the Hometown parade.  It was a good parade, all my companions and I decided.  ... See my Tabblo>

Day 182---Tuesday RW&B

B took this one for me while riding around in the Wal-Mart basket while I shopped. The spirit is everywhere we go!

Day 181---Monday RW&B

B made this with the Perler beads. Good Job!

Day 180---Sunday RW&B

I am beginning my red, white, and blue week. (This one's not patriotic, I know, but this is where I was today!)
Today I got to go see J perform in his Godspell production. He played the parts of the prodigal son, a seed that fell on the path, a tempter of Jesus, a Pharisee, and he got to direct two of the parables. This is the end product of his summer theater camp. Performances next weekend also!
I am going to post pictures of the production with my comments on the other blog. Thanks for visiting!

Day 179---Saturday

We went to a birthday party tonight at the pool, after they closed. Unfortunately, no one told the lifeguards to come be there and let us in! So we waited an extra 45 minutes to start the party, and got to stay an hour later---until 11:00! This was B's friend who invited all of us. J was performing in "Godspell" tonight and didn't swim, though.
This picture is L's friend, L the birthday girl, and our B.

Day 178---Friday

Our home has had a permanent Perler Bead station going for a few days now. In case you don't know, these little plastic beads are ironed together on plastic templates to make little . . . "things" the kids really like. J is working on making super-hero-animal Perler bead creations. Superman-butterfly? Spiderman-cat? He's made at least 12 of them in the last 3 days! We had a couple of friends over this morning, and the kids kept busy doing this. The great thing is, you have to be so still and controlled to make what you want, it makes the household generally quiet! ;-) J and B both have been ironing their own things, so this summer, it's been a really great thing to do, in my opinion!
