Day 56---Tuesday

Another day with multiple pictures. This is one I took, at recess time. The kids started a game of field hockey with the plastic golf clubs, which was a great way to get exercise. The sad part is that one boy did get hurt from a club whacked into his leg. It was a beautiful day again, with highs into the 80s!

I love this one too---they were trying to keep a ball on the parachute, but with only two of them, it wasn't working well. I like how the one on the left is on her toes as they're flipping it up in the air.

And this one was taken by B. She was thrilled when she looked at it and realized she and I were both in the picture together. She was outside our glass front door, and I was inside sitting on a stool. Came out really interestingly. :-)

Day 55---Monday

I goofed again, and I didn't take a picture on Monday! So I give you this picture that B took of me on Tuesday. My makeup is mostly worn off by this part of the afternoon, but I thought this looked pretty good.

Day 54---Sunday

These are the girls selling cookies one last time. We were trying to get rid of many cookies that we have extras of. We sold out of Thin Mints, Samoas, and Do-Si-Dos before the afternoon was over. These extra two girls are sisters.

Day 53---Saturday

This one is of a big group of grackels (I am not sure of the spelling!). They invade our area in the spring, and they were terrible on campus. They were moving through our neighborhood after a morning rain.

This is a bonus shot for Saturday! We went to the library, and I just love being upstairs in the children's section. J and B had made their selections. It was time to go downstairs and check them out at the self-serve machine. In a meeting room, there was a group having a violin recital. It was nice! The picture below is the library from the outside.

Day 52---Friday

I have been trying hard to get a picture of a robin---here's the best one yet. I have been seeing more robins than normal, I think! I don't know if they just migrate through here or if they usually come and stay, but it seems like I usually don't see robins here. Anyone know about them?

Day 51---Thursday

This is at my workplace. The boys were building a sand castle, they said. The stick in the top was their goal---they wanted to make it that tall. Eventually they did it! It was a great day to be outside---the second great day (in a row) since the new year, I thought.

Day 50---Wednesday

I saw traditional ideas for celebrating Chinese New Year on Heart of Rachel's blog, and one thing was to have fresh flowers for the new year. So here are the ones I bought on the eve---Saturday---still looking great on Wednesday.

Day 49---Tuesday

I finally got to cook my Chinese New Year's meal on Tuesday. This is a Sesame Chicken recipe that everyone liked, except B! She did eat the chicken, but not the broccoli or mushrooms. But we all enjoyed it and ate it up.

Day 48---Monday

This is my hubby in front of the restaurant we ate at for lunch today. Since Lar had jury duty today (at 1:15), I had thought we could go out to eat for lunch someplace close to the courthouse---downtown. And what do I think of first? Los Nortenos! Well, while Larry was out, he called into a radio station and won $20----to Los Nortenos! So I was amazed that he won for a place I had been thinking of. So of course we had to go there.

The special thing about this place is that we went here on our first date. You can read more about Sticky Chins Day (the celebration of our first date) on my other blog! :-)

By the way, he did get picked or the jury and will be busy through Wednesday, they told him.

Day 47---Sunday

I have to admit, I actually took this picture on Monday. But the damage was done on Sunday. Can you see what's missing? On my driver's side car door, I pulled off the handle when I was trying to get out. Ug! It had been cracked but Sunday it totally broke off. I am havnig to roll my window down (and notice, it's manual, too!), and reach out to open the door with the outside handle. Really a funny inconvenience!

Day 46---Saturday

B and I sold GS cookies outside an HEB grocery store. It wasn't cold---mid 50s to 60---but it was very windy. She made this sign with all the types of cookies on there.

Day 45---Friday

I won't often be on this blog---since I am supposed to be taking the pictures every day myself---but here I am taking my own picture. I got a haircut today, and that is noteworthy! You can even see the back of it.

Day 44---Thursday

B got an American Girl magazine in the mail, which led her to americangirl.com where this game was. It's a game where Josefina buys objects (in Spanish) and then sells them to people (in English). B and J both had to play, and as the levels went up, more and more objects were added (expanding vocabulary), and her shopping list got bigger--things she needed to take home. Te kids had fun with this for more than 45 minutes---so I had to make it the picture of the day.

I had just given B a Meet Josefina book for Sticky Chins Day, so the next morning, we read some of it together as we ate breakfast. Josephina is an American girl in New Mexico in 1824. Her mother has died, and she lives on her father's ranch. I can't wait to read the rest of her story.

Day 43---Wednesday

This was Valentine's day and I have nothing to offer! I did take pictures at Sonshine School again, but again, they are on a regular film camera and not developed. so later!

Day 42---Tuesday

We ate dinner at this Subway this evening between Brownie meeting and J's Troupe meeting. B especially loves Subway, and we like this location in downtown Bryan because it is in an oldbuilding and it's kinda neat on the inside with tall ceilings and stairs and a long bar to sit at to eat. None of these vehicles is ours. :-) The "open" sign is up because there is a lot of construction going on around this area of town, on roads and buildings. I like all the renovations to make the downtown area better.

Day 41---Monday

Everything is not quite back in it's place in this picture (notice the plunger still sitting in the tub!), bu this was a major accomplishment for the day. B wanted some extra money (she wants a $20 book), so I helped her clean the bathroom to earn some book money---$1.50 for this job. It's really hard to take a picture of this room! And I tried a picture with B in it---it just wasn't going to work.

Day 40---Sunday

J was still sick at home, but B came up to church with me and helped prepare the communion trays for church service. She is still working on her Girl Scout religious medal, and this is one thing she can do to help earn it.

Day 39---Saturday

I did some scrapbooking today, and this is a page about my cousin's wedding back in June.

Day 38---Friday

This is B and Larry on their way to the Daddy Daughter Dance at B's school. B and I ran out after school to get a fancy enought dress (this was my choice!), and we found a bargain dress that was velvety and kinda long. They had a great time---even Daddy thought it was fun.

Day 37---Thursday

This is us on Sticky Chins Day---Feb. 8th. We've now been going our for 17 years!! I was only 18 (and and 5/6) when I started dating Larry, so I've almost been with him half my life now. Isn't that weird??

Wednesday, February 7, 2007

Day 36---Wednesday

We picked up our cookies this evening---so if you want to buy some, let me know!! we have 25 cases this year----that's over $1000 worth of cookies in our living room! Kind of freaks me out.

Day 35---Tuesday

Here's what our house looks like! The windows are J's bedroom, and then two living room windows. This is our afternoon sun, taken from the mailbox while I was getting mail.

I'd like to paint the front door red. What do you think?

Day 34---Monday

This is what was outside on my driveway today. They have been digging up sections of yards all around my neighborhood, and the neighbor's yard was up. They cut some pipes and then laid them in the ground. You can't see the pile of dirt they dug out---it was taller than me, I think. I was too embarassed to go out in the yard while the men were there working. I thought they'd think I was stalking them or something. I think they made two dents in my driveway, though, right where that other shouvel is sitting on the concrete.

Day 33---Sunday

This is B after she got ready for bed this night. She's talking to her Daddy. She was proud to show us these "new" hand-me-down pajamas.

Saturday, February 3, 2007

Day 32---Saturday

Here is B and Larry eating their ice cream before the Willy Wonka show. We all had a good time and enjoyed it. Our seats were Way Up! B was hiding behind her daddy here, and I waited for her to step out before I snapped the picture. Can you tell where we are?

Day 31---Friday

This was our sausage casserole---for Ground-hog day. I forgot to take a picture before we ate some of it! But now you can see the inside of it.

Day 30---Thursday

These are two necklaces B and I made while we watched a movie. She was home from school today.

Day 29---Wednesday

This is B asleep on the couch. No flash used, so it is a bit dark. Here's the same shot again.

B fell asleep before dinner, and I just thought she was tired. But by that night about 10, she had her fever!

Day 28---Tuesday

This is another day I took pictures at school on a camera there. I know that film got taken to the store for developing on Wednesday, so maybe I'll get the pictures back sometime soon.

Here it is!!

We had a birthday in our class this day. Everyone has their 5th birthday in here!! Love the cookie cake. Yum!

Day 27---Monday

Okay, I skipped this day! I feel bad about it. :-(

I have decided to give you another picture I have taken on another day.

I took this one on Tuesday Jan. 23rd before the Girl Scout meeting. Yes, J had to tag along that day.
