Day 26---Sunday

J was in "Dear Edwina, Jr." for 4 shows, and today was the last show. This got a good close up of him---in a funny hat! He is Sonoma---of William and Sonoma, helping out a Fairy Fork Fairy tell a girl how to set the table. More pictures on the other blog!

Day 25---Saturday

I thought I'd take pictures at the show, but I got terrible seats tonight! So this is after the show and J is standing there with a 4 on his back. This is the stage---the setting for the show: someone's garage. M.A. is laying down on that futon there that has all the show shirts piled up on the back of it.

Day 24---Friday

I think this is the most represenative shot of the most unusual thing I saw yesterday. B was at her Girl Scout sleepover, and the hostess---her scout leader---had some racoons who came to eat some dog food she put out for them. I saw a total of three of them on their deck. They were very beautiful. I like having the little girl scout in the foreground, because you can see how we got to observe them so closely.

Day 23---Thursday

At my school today it was Snow/Pajama Day. This is one activity we did---very fun! Even with all the icicles we got last week, we never really got snow, so this is as good as it gets! This white stuff is packing peanuts ($60 worth), and the children here are from my class of 4s and 5s and another class of 3s and 4s. This year we had a leaf blower to blow the "snow" off the kids before we tracked it into the rest of the building, which worked great for clean-up. That stuff is incredibly static-y! They lay down in it, did snow angels, tossed it up, slid through it---just had a fun time!

Day 22---Wednesday

B got some hand-me-downs today from two different sources. These were some of the treasures.

Day 21---Tuesday

These are three Brownies at the meeting today. They were working on a "Numbers" Try-It patch, and were filling out forms about the numbers in their lives---birthday, weight and height, etc. They also figured out roughly how much it would cost to go on their trip with the Cookie money they are earning. The troop has over $1000 they earned, adn voted today on going to a sleepover at the Zoo in Waco, Cameron Park Zoo. Our B is the one on the left, and the middle one is a daughter of a guy Larry knew from Axtell---small world!

Day 20---Monday

This is the beginning of a big week for J. He has 4 shows this weekend he will be performing in, and he will be here at the Troupe "Space" every night this week. The group is doing "Dear Edwina Junior" which looks to be very funny. I'm sure the picture of the day will be J performing sometime this weekend.

Day 19---Sunday

I am so glad to see the sun today. The sky looked extra blue after all those overcast days. This is what I see out my front door.

Day 18---Saturday

Sad, but true---this was the only picture snapped at my house this day. And I didn't do it! So, I fell off the wagon one day! But at least we got "a" picture, and here it is.

J took this of B and I as we ate yummy Rotel cheese dip. I got this shirt at Ross for only $7. :-) My first brown shirt in many years, at B's urging. B's shirt also come from Ross, come to think of it.

Day 17---Friday

This is what happens when you're inside for too long. I almost used it for my Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt picture of "Wild." They went to school, but not out to recess!

Day 16---Thursday

This is the result of work done on the day before---when we played hookey from school. I had TOO much stuff on the former nightstand, and with all these little drawers, I can hide all the necessary things I like bedside. I've also gotten a smaller tissue box, since the tabletop is so tiny. I love it! I moved a lot of furniture the day before, and getting the little table into place has made me feel better.

Day 15---Wednesday

I thought long and hardabout the picture I would post---and here are the biggest icicles we had at our house---on the side by the kids' bedrooms, where a tree dripped all it's water on the roof before it dripped down these icicles.

Day 14---Tuesday

This is B, eating an icicle. This is such a rare treat! The kids were out of school, and we watched the sleet and ice pile up during the day.

Day 13---Monday

A little blurry, but as good as I could get from indoors! It was a really cold day, and many birds were in our back yard fluffing their feathers just like this. There were some beautiful cardinals as well, male and female.

Day 12---Sunday

This first one is one I took---it's a day of recovey at our house after the lock-in. J is asleep.

But here's a bonus one from the eye of Larry. It was about 9:30 at night, and it was just so cozy and warm, I fell asleep, too. We were trying to stay up and watch one more episode of Monk. We didn't make it.

Day 11---Saturday

Today we went to the Aggie women's basketball game with BV Troupe. This is M.A., and he is having popcorn! It was dollar day, so the tickets were only a dollar and some concessions were only a dollar. (Like a tiny cup of Coke and a regular sized Skittles bag.) My little B is in the background of this photo in section 129! She went with a friend, and J invited a friend to go with him with the Troupe group. After the game, in which the Aggies (#19) beat Baylor (#9), the kids also had a lock-in at Troupe (and Larry and I got to go out to dinner alone this way). So it was a real Troupe kind of day.

Day10---Friday

This is not exciting, but here's the picture of the day. I moved the dining room carpet into the lving room. I challenged the kids to learn the states and capitals---J should be learning this in 5th grade, right? He said, "Huh! Is it on the TAKS test?" Uh! Teaching to the test! I hate it! So I gave some incentive: the first one of them to learn the states and capitals gets $10. J has no interest still, but B wanted to get started right away. So this is why the map is out on the table. $10? I think that's a great incentive!

Please leave a comment if you're visiting! I don't think I'm going to put any kind of counter on this site, so I have no idea who is looking. Just say, "Hi!" so I know you were here. It would be really encouraging!
Thanks!

Day 9---Thursday

I took my digital camera outdoors on the playground at work yesterday. I got several really nice shots, but this one tells a story. The boys had commandeered the jungle gym area, and were not letting the girls get on. This little girl was telling them that the girls were going to get up there and not let the boys push them around. This is a typical scene at my workplace! I have found that these kids, aged 4 and 5, almost always start having "teams" in this second half of the year. I guess it is a developmental stage they are going through. But it leads to some hurt feelings---always! This particular class was doing teams from the start, though. It's not always boys vs. girls, but today the lines were clearly drawn.

Day 8---Wednesday

This day I did take pictures. However, I took them with a cheap disposable camera, and I don't know when those will get developed. I'll have to scan one in for that day!

Day 7---Tuesday

This is my favorite piece of furniturure that arrived at my house. I guess I like it because it is so unexpectedly fancy! ;-) I love the little pieces hanging down from the top. This is so much fancier than anything else in the house.

This oval table was sitting in the front hall of my Aunt Sally's house---which had been her parents' house, too. That would be my Mom's dad's Parents, my great grandparents. I have it in the living room, close to the front door, and eventually it will have a lamp on it at least.

Our house is completely in a wreck with all this new furniture---it is a lot more than I expected.

More pictures of furniture to come!

Day 6---Monday

This McDonald's sign is significant for two reasons. First, it's torn up because there was a small tornado (are any of them small?) through College Station. Mostly it seems there were downed fences and such, but this sign was really torn up. We had eaten there for lunch the same day, and when the storm came through, we were sitting at the barber shop waiting on Larry to meet us there. We got a little hail on our car and heavy heavy rain. I'm thinking this storm passed through on Friday before the new year.

The second reason this is significant is because J got his report card today, and I let him pick a place for dinner----McDonald's! So that is why we were back over here again. He got 3 As and 2 Bs---87 and 89, so close. That's a good report card!

I am so tempted to post more than one picture a day. I guess I shouldn't! Stick with the plan! Maybe my extras will end up on my other, main blog. :-) J came home sick from school, and I could have gotten a parallel picture of him like the one I have of Larry.

Day 5---Sunday

These are our two dogs, Zuzu and Angel. Angel is a full blooded yellow lab, and Zuzu is her daughter. I had gone out on a very uninteresting photo day, and they were so hungry, all I could do was photo them eating.

Day 4---Saturday

B was on the phone with her daddy. He is out of town, helping my parents move some furniture from Memphis to Texas. Larry volunteered to drive a big truck for them. Some of this furniture was my great-grandparents', and it's from what was their house. I am sure some of my pictures in the days to come will be of the furniture we end up with.

Day 3---Friday

This is an order form for B's Girl Scout cookies. This is the first official day to sell cookies for this year. She sold 16 boxes by the time she got home from school. Go Girl!

Day 2---Thursday

This is who was on my mind today. Lar was feeling sick and I had to go on to work before him. Just a head cold, but would it turn worse?

Day 1---Wednesday

This is the day I made a big effort to gather the Christmas decorations. Time to put it all away.
