Here's what I like about hometown parades---the band!
Actually the band was really small. They can't make the students attend a parade in the summer----at least that was how it was when I was in. But also, there were several instrument-playing kids on another float---the local Democratic Party float!

Here's J! I took this one before the parade in Granbury. Mom and Dad treated us to sitting at a restaurant along the route, with breakfast! The food was good---Mexican breads and egg/sausage/potato breakfast tacos. Yummy!
Three Stooges suspenders borrowed from Poppa.

I like this house because we have gotten to stay there---like 10 years ago! ;-) We stayed here in our hometown when we looked for a house to live in. Anyway, it's all decked out in red, white and blue for the Fourth!

Here's our little friend from church. Patriotic colors, and he has dual citizenship---US (born here) and Australian (his parents are both from there). Either way, I guess he's sporting his country's colors.

Has anyone else been getting the special Coke cans for the Olympics? Jamie and I have been keeping our eyes open for the newest one. Next will be Ethiopia, and then China.

I am going to do a red, white, and blue theme for the next six entries---a week of Patriotic colors. I think we get pretty patriotic when the Olympics comes along, including food sponsors! ;-) Go U.S.A.!

Day 186---Saturday RW&B

As I was looking all over the place for red, white, and blue images, I was drawn to this mailbox in my neighborhood. They keep it like this all year. They even have a wooden flag on their house, with the inscription "Forever in Peace May it Wave."

Day 184---Thursday RW&B

This one is sort of stretching for red, white and blue! My Dad's shirt is red, the screen is white (and so is Dad's hat), and J's shirt is blue.
We got to go to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History today. They were having a Star Wars exhibit (throught Sept. 3rd) that my Mom thought the kids would like to see. It was about how science and movie makers think along the same lines. B is using the fancy headset with touchscreen to tell her about the different exhibits.
It was a VERY rainy day, and I walked around with wet shoes all day, but I had a great time! In the afternoon, we went to the OMNI theater to see the "Special Effects" movie. We were all longing to see Harry Potter on the IMAX next week (but we won't!).

Day 183---Wednesday RW&B

Tabblo: Red White and Blue

These are my red, white and blue pictures from the 4th.  I went to Granbury, Texas, for the Hometown parade.  It was a good parade, all my companions and I decided.  ... See my Tabblo>

Day 182---Tuesday RW&B

B took this one for me while riding around in the Wal-Mart basket while I shopped. The spirit is everywhere we go!

Day 181---Monday RW&B

B made this with the Perler beads. Good Job!

Day 180---Sunday RW&B

I am beginning my red, white, and blue week. (This one's not patriotic, I know, but this is where I was today!)
Today I got to go see J perform in his Godspell production. He played the parts of the prodigal son, a seed that fell on the path, a tempter of Jesus, a Pharisee, and he got to direct two of the parables. This is the end product of his summer theater camp. Performances next weekend also!
I am going to post pictures of the production with my comments on the other blog. Thanks for visiting!
