December photo 10

This was out my front door. B and I marveled at it for a while before getting ready for school.

October Photo 7

This is one of those little blessing God gives all of us. It isn't monetary, and it doesn't last very long, but it feels like a gift. And being able to take a picture of it and keep it---it makes me happy.

September Photo 16

Here's a bug of some kind that jumped on my shoe after this shot. Yes, it's focussing on the mailbox instead of the bug!

September Photo 7

I was in the backyard, taking "before" pictures of the trees and yard, and looked up at the beautiful sky. Love it!

I know I was going crazy. My brain always goes to a worst case scenario, so I was sure that a tree was goign to fall on our house in Hurricane Ike.

August Photo 8

Tropical storm Edouard came to our town. J was catching water and throwing it on his sister. There wasn't any thunder! J wanted to keep some of Edourad's water in a jar---I still don't understand why.

August Photo 4

Angel is asleep in the cool dirt. She is usually here or under the deck when she's outside in this heat.

July Photo 14

This is the answer to mystery picture #1 on the other blog. Water dripping off our roof. We got a heavy rain for about 20 minutes. Yahoo! This place where it drips is always a good place to collect rainwater for watering plants (If I had any going this year).

Title: The Devil is Beating His Wife
(Have you heard that phrase before?) :-)
This was the second day in a row that a spotty thundershower came over my neighborhood. And the unexpected result? My front door isn't sticking in the frame anymore. I guess the wet weather finally made things right again.

June Photo 11

B and I picked out a new lawn sprinkler, and it just spins really fast. Kicks up a lot of mist! This is the back yard.

May Photo 29

Here are the last day of school pictures!
We're done for the year!
Goodbye, 6th grade, hello, 7th!
Goodbye 3rd grade, hello, 4th!

I also today got my offer for a contract to work at a new school! I'll blog about that on the main blog later. B wants me to go help her with a 1000-piece puzzle.

May Photo 27

Here's the sun tea pitcher I picked out because of the design. B and i want to keep the tea flowing! But this one was leaking---in the fridge!----so I will take it back and get the one that was a dollar more and made of glass.

May Photo 12

There were two rabbits in the yard, munching on the grass. They were on to me, though---that one is giving me a wary eye.

May Photo 1

I was in the yard taking pictures of some baby birds (who didn't have the sense to run away form me or the dog! So I got really close to them), and I got this really good one of a squirrel on the fence. Look at the focus on him and not on the background! Auto setting worked great this time.

Here are the other ones I took. These were all using my zoom, and then I cropped them, so it looks even closer. The blue jay was feeding his/her babies---stuffing stuff right in their mouths! Look how big they are and still depending on parents. But their baby feathers are still there, and like I said, they didn't know to run away---and they couldn't really fly much.

I had to go look up some info about the Jays---their sexes look alike, and their eggs are very similar to the ones I found and posted about in April photo 13.

Happy Birthday, Mom!!

April Photo 27

Here's B with our Angel. B was brushing her in the back yard.

This rabbit has been grazing in our yard. I shot this through the window and with a zoom.

April Photo 13

A big bunch of fluffy stuff was in an old flower pot on the deck. I went over to move it, and I realized it looked like a nest, with a hole for an opening. When I looked inside, this is what I saw. Isn't that cool?

March photo 5

One last shot of our yard and neighborhood. You wouldn't believe how much excitement this caused around our town!

March photo 3

Of course, if you're a snow novice, you mucst try to catch some flakes on your tongue. You can't tell much by this picture, but there were big fluffy flakes coming down for 15 minutes. The blurs in the right side of the picture are really snowflakes.
