Day 87---Friday

I got to go out tonight with a friend for dinner and Half Price Books. This is when I got home---not too wild a night! We decided to start a book club---one book a month, with dinner out at the end.

Day 86---Thursday

This is my classroom, but this beautiful young lady is not me! ;-) I have an Aggie every Thursday in my classroom---they are students who are observing preschool classrooms for a class. This week, she had a story to share with the children as part of her class. They listened very well for her, I was so glad!! I have a very talky group! :-) Look---I even have one student raising her hand!

This week was the last one for this Aggie. They visit each center for four weeks. Next week I'll get one more Aggie to finish out the school year.

Day 85---Wednesday

This is my angel I got from B for Christmas 2005. I love it. Although it is my only one, I consider it my beginning of my "Jim Shore" Collection. I feel like I might have posted this before, so forgive me if I did. This one's called "Mother, You're an Angel." Awww . . .

Day 84---Tuesday

B finished her baby hat at Tabitha Class on Sunday evening. She put it in a gift bag for her Girl Scout troop leader.

And bonus photo from the Girl Scout meeting. This was my favorite of the ones I took that afternoon. The girls were making up their own puppet shows (very inprov!) to earn a Try-It patch for puppets and dolls. B is not even in this one, but it's cute---you can see how enthusiastic they were.

Day 83---Monday

I have been waiting for the optimum time to take a picture of this wisteria. The lady who lives here works in her yard a lot, and she has wonderful plants. She has trained this wisteria to grow into a tree. I love those purple flowers!

Day 82---Sunday

There wasn't a doubt which picture I'd pick for today. This might even be our picture of the year. :-) J decided to get baptized. Totally his choice, totally his own committment, totally in God's timing. This one is right as he was coming up out of the water.

Day 81---Saturday

Here's Mr. Squirrel, in our backyard. What is he eating?

Day 80---Friday

It has been very hard to pick a picture for today! I got some more photos of bluebonnets---the first of the season. But I have been eyeing these irises for a few weeks. For some reason, white iries come up around here in March, and when I was growing up, all the irises came up in early May or so. My grandparents grew irises and even judged irses in shows. My grand-dad photographed them. My grandmother was vice president (president, maybe?) of her regional American Iris Society.

Day 79---Thursday

Today was Worm Day at my preschool. These are the hands of some 5-year-olds who were unafraid to touch the worms. Their friend is just off camera, being squeamish, and I was surprised he felt that way! (A manly man kind of boy.) It's not really gross. They are kinda fascinating. :-)

Day 78---Wednesday

This is B's hair. :-)

Day 77----Tuesday

I kinda hate this shiny-face picture, but it's all I got for Tuesday! B was learning about India at her Girl Scout meeting. (Thanks, J for the photography.) This is after a long day at the pre-school!

Day 76---Monday

This picture was inspired by a scrapbooking site called Scrapbook Addict. The hostess is suggesting a picture prompt for every day of March. This was Sunday's but I thought it would be a interesting challenge. I am also playing with black and white---with digital, it changes from color to B/W at the click of a button!

When we were together last week, my sister and I both were looking at our hands thinking they looked old. The palm side still looks good! This is the left hand in case anyone reads palms.

Day 75---Sunday

This is the front of our church, when we came back for evening services. A typical Sunday!

Day 74---Saturday

This isn't the kind of picture I was planning for my St. Patrick's Day. I thought we'd go to Galveston Beach and meet up with mym sister and her family. But about 1 a.m., B started throwing up! I did not think we needed to get in a car with her this day, even though she begged and pleaded that we go. The day ended with her feeling better, and a warm bath. I have a cute one of her face in the bubbles, but thought maybe I shouldn't put bath pictures on the Internet?!?

This picture was made cooler by one waterdroplet falling into frame. The drop and the shadow are over on the right side.

Day 73---Friday

E spent the night at our house even though the rest of his family stayed at a hotel. Apparently it was important to spend the night with us! It was fun to have him---he was no trouble. This morning we took a walk to the park near our house, and his Dad hopped out of the car as they passed us on the way to our house. So this is us walking back to our house across the "creek" Thisis usually dry, but after so much rain, we still have a flow going across.

Day 72--Thursday

It's the four cousins on my side of the family! My sister's two kids and my two kids. I was watching all four by myself while my sis and her husband went to the Presidential Library and the Bonfire Memorial.

Day 71---Wednesday

This is a before and after post. The sky was really dark before this heavy deluge hit. It was mid afternoon, but we had to turn on some lights inside the house. Felt like 6:00 in the evening.

And then the rain hit, and it was like buckets coming down. Very cleansing! Both of these pictures are taken from my front door and show my neighbors' houses.

This was the afternoon I was expecting my sister to drive in, but fortunately for her, she came in behind the rain.

Day 70---Tuesday

This was lunch, during a rainstorm. It Larry's sampler plate. I was trying to photograph the steam coming off the meal!

Day 69---Monday

We are expecting company on Wednesday afternoon, so J actually got his bottom bunk cleaned off---and he's vacuuming it off. That was his idea for cleaning it! (Maybe I ought to go ahead and wash that comforter?) He's wearing the shirt I got him in South Padre Is. last summer. Purple is his favorite color!
This shot also shows the border I did in his room when we moved in about 4 years ago. Back then his favorite color was green, and purple was an accent color along with black. I was really proud of how his room looked when we were done. It was a lot of work. :-)

Day 68---Sunday

B is reading a puzzle book on her bed.

Day 67---Saturday

This post's called "Around the Yard."
Pretty flowering ground cover by my neighbor's house.

Flowering pear tree (I think?) across the street---I love the snowman still out---spring doesn't arrive until the 20th!

Clover by the mailbox. "I'm looking over a four-leafed-clover . . ."

Day 66---Friday

I have two for today, and you'll get the full story later.
The top is a group from J's school performing a Mexican dance.
This second one is just what you think---a girl hitting a pinata! I love it because she is really hitting with all her might and kicked her leg up in the air. Also the sky in the background is nice. There are times I want to take pictures of the sky, but I don't know how to get the colors right. So that was a small bonus! :-) Larry is in the background also in a navy shirt. He was crowd control!

Day 65---Thursday

I was taking a picture at school and trying to be artsy. I had this little girl in shadow---she's climbing up the slide, and then she wanted us both to be in the picture, so she leaned in. Very sweet. She's a really loving child!

Day 64---Wednesday

I took this out the windshield, so there's a little reflection. They are building a new police building right here next to the city halll building. I just love chranes!

Day 63---Tuesday

This is B and her knitting projects. She is knitting on needles in this picture! I'm so proud. :-) I got her some really big needles and really big yarn to learn with. It gives results a lot quicker than regular yarn. The baby colored yarn B was using to make a baby hat with a circular knitting hoop. (What's it called?) And I cut the head out of the shot, but B made a yarn doll at Girl Scouts this afternoon, and it was cool. It had to be included---all things yarn!

Day 62---Monday

This is B's Easter dress from last year. I wanted to show it to my sister to see if it looked like her daughter's dress she bought for this year.

Day 61---Sunday

This is the day I began knitting again. B's Tabitha Class at church was being taught to knit, and I just had to join in. My Mom's Mom---Grandmother J.---taught me and my sister to knit one summer when we went to stay with them in Arkansas. We did all kinds of crafts, and we knit some Barbie dresses I know. :-) I am turning this blue yarn into a scarf as I practice knitting, but my goal is to learn to knit a pattern for something.

Day 60---Saturday

I saw the dogs on the deck sleeping like twins. Their front feet are even in the same position. We are having some days here with very cool mornings (freezing temps, even!), but beautiful afternoons. My Favorite Time of Year!!

Saturday, March 3, 2007

Day 59---Friday

I had to use this picture for both this blog---the only picture I took yesterday!---and for the Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt. I could kick myself for not taking my camera with me yesterday, though. I saw some men sitting on top of an iron beam on the new police building they're constructing. I saw a redbud tree and some flowering trees I could have taken, since this is the first week we've seen blooms. I had an 11-year-old boy in the mall picking out clothes! That was noteworthy, too! But here it is---popcorn. Maybe something better on Saturday!

Day 58---Thursday

J got this new Bionicle today, after saving his allowance for weeks. Cool, isn't it?

Day 57---Wednesday

This is the day I stayed home with B because of her strep throat. Or should I say Scarlett Fever! She had the rash, but no fever. This picture is the NEW baby line of Creative Memories products. I got an auto-ship of the new products for March. They are really great! There is both a bright and a soft option for baby boys or baby girls. Also, a new mini punch and a liquid glue for tiny things, in a pen form.
